Be a part of a public service organization that is dedicated to encouraging and supporting public interest law practice and pro bono service within the DC legal community. Coming from firms, government, public interest organizations and Capital Hill, Council members share a commitment to helping ensure more effective legal representation to individuals and groups whose access to legal services is limited.
The Council is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and all membership fees are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law. Membership benefits include:
- Member discounts to the Council's training programs, which provide high-quality, affordable programs to public interest lawyers, as well as discounts to its regularly sponsored events, like wine and cheese gatherings, that feature prominent speakers on issues of the day.
- Opportunities to network with others who are engaged in public interest practice and pro bono service, as well as a chance to participate directly in planning and implementing the Council's array of activities.
- An e-mail copy of the monthly Public Interest Job Clearinghouse, a job listing of public interest employment opportunities.
- A professional-quality newsletter that features news on public interest and pro bono issues, in addition to information about Council activities.
